Flights from St Lucia to Bequia

Feb 20, 2008, 5:07 PM

I read in one of the posts that Grenadines Air started flights from St Lucia to Bequia.

Went to their site and could not find any info.

Can anyone help?

It was on a Bequia site. Send them an email to confirm.

The Grenadines Air Alliance will, in all likelihood be revisiting its routing and schedules. The reason for this is that the Mustique Company has purchased the Otters from the Air Alliance.

I believe this deal closes at the end of this month. The plan is to re lease the planes back to the Alliance to operate them, but on strict conditions to do with both safety and maintenance as well as schedule.

It is my understanding that the new schedule will be designed, at least in part to serve the needs of the Mustique stake holders. I am told that this will include a guarantee that the first point of arrival out bound from BGI will be Mustique and the last stop to BGI will be Mustique. I am not sure of any other scheduling issues but my guess is that there will be some.

Thanks, that gives us some hope that things might indeed improve soon.

Has the "alliance" a monopoly on the Grenadines?

Given SVG prices, you would think competition would get in...

As I understand it the Alliance is a joint venture between Mustique Airways and SVG Air, which was done to allow that opperation to make money and then they could each concentrate on their charter operations.

However, even the Alliance was not making money, so in order to protect our access to Mustique, the Mustique home owners have done this deal to buy and re lease the planes, which will give the company some needed operating capital and give us some controll on service and safty quality.

Mustiqu home owners are now paying an extra 10% per year on their assessments to pay for this, so to all of those of you Bequia fans who have participated in what I have viewed in the past to be an anti Mustique bias on here, it is my hope that this will benefit all of us who love the Grenadines.
